Gelatine Capsules
Gelatine capsules are an elegant and
widespread form of pharmaceutical
administration.
Depending on the nature of the filling
material to be capsulated – whether
liquid, paste or powder – either hard
or soft capsules can be used.
In addition to having a neutral taste,
they are pleasant and safe to apply
and have a high degree of bioavailability.
Hard capsules
Hard capsules (hard gelatine capsules) consist of pure
gelatine (animal source) or cellulose (plant source) and can
be manufactured with the addition of colouring matter.
The empty capsules procured by our company are opened
by machine, filled with powder or granulate, and then
sealed again.
Soft capsules
In contrast, soft capsules are formed, filled and sealed in a
single work process. They are very suitable for pastes and
oily filling materials. Glycerine and/or sorbitol can be
used as a softening agent for the capsule.
